The Capricorn Full Moon & The Threshold of Reflection

There is something quietly powerful about a Full Moon in Capricorn. Unlike many Full Moons that stir our emotions into waves, Capricorn asks us to become still enough to hear the deeper wisdom beneath them.

This moon arrives at the height of summer, when the Earth is abundant and alive, yet it reminds us that every season of growth eventually asks us to become its steward. It is a moon of maturity, devotion, responsibility, and sacred purpose. This Capricorn Full Moon occurs June 29, 2026, at 11:56 PM UTC (7:56 PM EDT / 4:56 PM PDT), and Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer the same day, June 29, remaining retrograde until July 23.

Capricorn is often misunderstood as simply ambitious or disciplined. But beneath its mountain-climbing nature lives something much older. Capricorn teaches us about tending what truly matters.

The ancient tree.

The stone that has weathered centuries.

The elder whose wisdom was earned through experience.

This Full Moon asks:

What am I building that will continue to nourish both myself and others long after today?

The Alchemy of The Sea Goat

Capricorn is symbolized by the Sea Goat—a creature that belongs equally to the waters below and the mountains above. Capricorn is a creature with the tail of a fish to navigate the deepest emotional currents of the underworld, and the hooves of a goat to scale the highest mountain peaks. It reminds us that true mastery is never rushed. Like the roots of an ancient oak, our greatest strength develops quietly beneath the surface before anyone ever sees what grows above.

This is a beautiful moon for asking yourself:

What foundations am I creating?

What no longer supports my path?

What sacred medicine am I finally ready to embody?

Rather than striving for perfection, Capricorn teaches steady devotion, small acts, daily rituals, honoring our commitments. These are what transform our lives.

As with everything in our world, there is stronger medicine to take in as well: This Full Moon illuminates the tension between our inner emotional truths and our external structures. It demands that we stop apologizing for our depth. If you have been keeping yourself small, maintaining a "sweet" surface mask to keep others comfortable while denying your internal power, this lunation is your cosmic eviction notice from the web of codependency.

An Earth Centered Practice

Rather than spending this Full Moon indoors, allow the Earth to become your temple. Find a quiet place beneath a tree, in your garden, beside a stream, or wherever you feel held by nature. Remove your shoes and

place your hands upon the Earth. Close your eyes and take several deep slow breaths.

Imagine roots growing from your body into the soil beneath you.

As you breathe, ask:

"What am I being asked to tend?"

Remain in silence. The Earth has a remarkable way of answering when we become still enough to hear.

Journal Reflection Prompts

Spend some time journaling beneath the Full Moon.

✧ What have I cultivated over the past six months?

✧ What quiet strengths have emerged through life's challenges?

✧ Where am I being asked to become more devoted rather than more productive?

✧ What fears are keeping me from sharing my sacred medicine?

✧ What legacy do I hope to leave—not through achievement alone, but through the way I live?

Preparing for Mercury Retrograde

As the light of this Full Moon begins to wane, it hands the cosmic baton directly to Mercury, which is preparing to station retrograde in the sensitive waters of Cancer. A Mercury Retrograde following a Capricorn Full Moon is a highly intentional design. Capricorn builds the outer structure; Cancer asks if that structure actually feels like home.

The Theme:

  • Re-evaluating your boundaries, your emotional safety net, and your history.

  • The Medicine: This retrograde invites us to:

    ✧ Revisit unfinished conversations.

✧ Reflect upon decisions before rushing ahead.

    ✧ Reconnect with neglected dreams.

✧ Restore balance to our nervous systems.

✧ Return to practices that nourish us.

Rather than resisting Mercury Retrograde, allow it to become a sacred pause. Nature rarely rushes and neither should we.

Aquarius Moon

Honor your need for solitude. Some of your greatest insights will arrive through silence.

Pisces Moon

Community matters. Share your gifts with others rather than carrying everything alone.

Rooting The Moon...

Each Full Moon I like to illuminate one plant spirit ally to work with, to harness the magick it can share with us. For the month of June I have chosen Strawberry Leaf.

Strawberry Leaf

Although this Full Moon shines through Capricorn, it is also lovingly known as the Strawberry Moon—a name gifted by Indigenous peoples of North America to mark the season when wild strawberries ripen.

While the fruit is often celebrated, the leaves themselves carry a beautiful medicine. Strawberry leaf has long been associated with nourishment, gentleness, resilience, and the generous heart of the Earth.

Its medicine reminds us that abundance is not always loud. Sometimes it arrives leaf by leaf, moment by moment and act by act.

Spiritually, Strawberry invites us to:

✧ Cultivate gratitude.

✧ Open the heart with gentleness.

✧ Remember the sweetness already present in our lives.

✧ Strengthen our relationship with the land through simple acts of care.

Working with Strawberry Leaf

  • Brew a simple tea before your Full Moon meditation.

  • Place a few fresh leaves upon your altar as a symbol of gratitude for the abundance already present in your life.

  • Carry a dried leaf within your journal while reflecting upon the sacred medicine you are growing into.

  • If you work respectfully with the Faery Folk, Strawberry leaves may also be placed beside an offering of fresh spring water, berries, or wildflowers as a gesture of gratitude to the spirits of the land.

Offer freely and without expectation. Relationship with the Otherworld is cultivated through respect, patience, and reciprocity—not through seeking favors.

Closing Reflection

The Capricorn Full Moon reminds us that our greatest work is rarely accomplished through dramatic moments but woven through the small choices we make each day.

The rituals we keep.

The promises we honor.

The gardens we tend.

The wisdom we embody.

May this Full Moon strengthen your roots, steady your heart, and gently reveal the sacred medicine you came here to bring forth.

With Many Faery Blessings,

Joanna
